I am very picky and had a very long list of needs/wants for my "dream home". She gave me honest overview about what she thought I could get given my price range and then immediately set up a customized search. I looked through the listings for about a week and found a house I really liked while I was on vacation out of state. The listing had just had a price drop (due to the crazy housing market of 2022) and was starting to receive attention from other buyers. I needed to make an offer, but I wasn't even in the state to see the house. Melanie very quickly set up a time to go look at the house and get as much information from the seller as possible. She gave me a fantastic virtual showing and was very honest about the pros and cons of the house. She gave very detailed descriptions of how everything looked and felt. Some agents will just focus on the superficial parts of the home, but Melanie focused on the real important items such as structural components, roof, signs of water damage, and quality of build (especially for the recently remodeled areas). After the showing, I decided I wanted to make an offer. Melanie swiftly put together the paperwork while working with me to decide the terms that would give me the best chance of beating out the competition, while still staying within a comfortable range of my budget. Throughout the the negotiations, counter-offers, etc., Melanie was extremely efficient and updated me the second she had any more information. Knowing that I had not seen the house in person, she made sure to include an inspection contingency and helped set up a very detailed inspection by a professional to ensure I knew exactly what I was getting into. She also was able to set up the inspection contingency in a way that I would be able to see the house in person before the contingency deadline. Melanie's responsiveness, professionalism, and skill as a real estate agent made the entire home buying process seamless and way less stressful.
